The clinical effect of b-adrenoceptor stimulant, procaterol

Abstract
In order to evaluate the clinical effect of Procaterol in reversible obstructive pulmonary disease, 0.lmg Procaterol per day was administered to 10 patients having treatment in Catholic Medical College, Kang Nam St. Mary¢¥s Hospital.
The results were as follows;
1. Total 10 cases of patients were diagnosed as bronchial asthma, and 7 cases of 10 had complications such as acute or chronic bronchitis.
2. Patients were administered single dose of 0.05mg, twice a day during average 10. 5 days, and Procaterol showed effects in all cases. In the case of complications, if necessary, we used together antibiotics.
3. None of patients except one complained of a subjective symptom being doubted as side effects. One patient who complain about palpitation, was recovered by ceasing administration.
4. Procaterol had long duration of action by the persistence of effective blood level. Therefore, it continued to improve respiratory function until the next morning by administration of 0.05mg before retiring.
